OBJECTIVES
Purpose and Mission
The primary objectives of the society are to revive, conserve, and promote the interests, sentiments, and associations of the clan. It aims to foster social connections among its members, collect and preserve records and traditions related to the clan, and publish these materials. Additionally, the society encourages education, offers assistance to deserving clansmen, and pursues other objectives as determined by the society from time to time.
Governance
The society operates as an independent organization, governed by its council and constitution. The chief of Clan Lamont does not have jurisdiction in the business affairs of the society.
Global Outreach
The society seeks to engage members in social and educational activities across countries worldwide. The mother society, based in Scotland, serves as the global leader. Other countries wishing to participate will look to the mother society for assistance and guidance. Any country wishing to affiliate with the society must apply to the mother society. Applicants will be carefully evaluated for integrity and ability to advance the clan from their respective country. The decision made by the mother society will be final. Our sister societies serve to identify and serve the Lamont diaspora abroad and to preserve clan traditions and culture, and promote the history of the clan.
The Clan Lamont Society of Canada form officially closed in 2022.
